Uma grande amigo (Gilberto Custódio) me mandou uma playlist que estava rolando no site http://muxtape.com, foi assim que descobri esse magnífico site. WEB 2.0 é o máximo, não é? Sites cada vez mais inteligentes e simples, onde o usuário gerencia o conteúdo.
E já está a caminho a WEB 3.0, a terceira onda da Internet, mas por enquanto é só especulação.

Coletâneas

Em fevereiro de 2007 fui fazer um curso em Londres e fiquei em Rotterdam na Holanda junto com minha namorada que estava fazendo um intercâmbio da pós. Uma semana por mês eu passava em Londres e depois voltava para a Rotterdam. Neste período pude viajar por vários países da europa e assistir diversos shows mas isso é uma outra história. O importante aqui é lembrar que foi nessa época que comecei a criar coletâneas para escutar o que eu mais gostava no momento. Aproveitava e gerava um "cdr" para amigos - uma mixtape é sempre um presente legal. Depois irei postar as coletâneas de 2007 e para começar seguem as duas primeiras coletâneas de 2008.

Um documentário de Pamela Valente, França/Japão, 2006.
Tóquio propõe muitos níveis diferentes de realidade. Você pode encontrar lá qualquer coisa. O retrato desta cidade surpreendente através do rock. Os japoneses compreendem e amam o rock, existe um significativo mundo underground. Traz quatro bandas e um rock de garagem intenso. Jovens garotos que acreditam no sucesso através da música.
A diretora Pamela Valente nasceu e foi criada em São Paulo. Depois de terminar os estudos na ECA (SP), foi para a França, estudou história em Paris, onde viveu por 11 anos. Depois, decidiu ir para Tóquio, onde viveu por quase 2 anos. Mora atualmente em Paris. Este é seu primeiro filme.

AMERICAN HARDCORE
Um documentário de Paul Rachman, EUA, 2006.
A história do punk rock americano entre 1980 e 1986. Praticamente ignorada, a cena punk rock hardcore do início dos anos 80 foi percussora da música e da cultura que se seguiram. Haveria Nirvana, Beastie Boys ou Red Hot Chili Peppers se não existissem os pioneiros como Black Flag, Bad Brains e Minor Threat? Hardcore era mais do que música, era um movimento social criado por jovens marginalizados da era Reagan. Constituíam uma tribo, enquanto alguns procuravam um mundo melhor, outros estavam irritados e querendo mandar tudo para o inferno.
O diretor Paul Rachman começou sua carreira fazendo filmes e vídeos musicais sobre a cena underground com bandas como Bad Brains, Gang Green, Negative FX e Mission of Burma. Na Propaganda Films, em Los Angeles, dirigiu vídeos de Alice in Chains, Sepultura, Roger Waters e Kiss. Também fez curtas como Memories with Joe Frank (1992), Drive Baby Drive (1995), Bang Bang (1999) e Zoe XO (2004). Em 2000, dirigiu Four Dogs Playing Poker, seu primeiro longa.

OLD SCHOOL:

The Only Ones é uma banda inglesa formada em 1976 pelo Peter Perret. "The Only Ones" também é o nome do primeiro álbum lançado em 1978. Desde então esta banda tem sido uma forte influência na cena alternativa de rock. Bandas como The Replacements, Blur, Nirvana e mais recentemente o The Libertines citam o The Only Ones como uma referência musical.
Aproveitando a fama no underground e a onda dos "revivals" eles voltaram a tocar e quem estiver por Londres em março pode conferir alguns shows, parece uma boa pedida.
SoulSeek nesses dois álbuns (ambos excelentes): The Only Ones (1978) e Even Serpents Shine (1979).
